Miffy is a classic children’s character that is now 55 years old and has certainly stood the test of time. Who would have thought all those years ago when dutch artist Dick Bruna first drew pictures of bunnies to entertain his young whilst on holiday that such a phenomenon would be born.
Miffy is a girl as Dick preferred drawing dresses to trousers. Miffy shares her birthday with Prince William, lucky girl. Miffy is currently immortalised in a giant field of 40,000 tulips in Kiso Sansen park in Japan, to mark her 55th anniversary
To date Dick Bruna has published 120 children’s picture book’s
Miffy merchandise is sold all over the world and includes things for babies right up to home furnishings.
