Autism UK Campaign & Petition ACT NOW!

Autism Uk Campaign are a group of campaigners that are working to ACT NOW to oppose the proposed benefit cuts and assessment for people with ASD.They are launching a petition to hand to Downing Street in October.

ACT NOW is all about stopping benefits cut to a vulnerable group of society. Many people who have autism cannot work, it’s not that they don’t want to work it’s for what ever reason they can’t find work. As autism has a big effect on social skills which has a knock on effect on daily life such as work.

Another side of the coin is that parents with autistic children cannot go out to work as they are unable to find suitable childcare. I have been in that situation and it is not easy finding somewhere that the child likes and feels comfortable with as well as like the staff. I think because of people’s understanding of autism is so select there are times that they don’t know how to deal with an autistic child. The list is long and endless of how these proposed cuts are going to affect the autism community. I have highlighted a few points and skimmed the surface of the huge impact of the proposed cuts.

This group is dedicated to trying to bring to light the issues these cuts would cause . Please if you read this go and sign the petition form you won’t realize how much you are helping the autistic community. All it takes is a few minutes of your time to make a life time change .
