I used to love playing board games but I have to admit that it is more difficult to play them nowadays as I have a daughter that has Special Needs and thinks nothing of throwing the pieces everywhere.
The first thing that struck me about the game was the box not only is it very colourful the pictures give a clear indication of what the game is about.
The boards are very well constructed and a perfect size for little hands to pick them up, which is great for fine motor skills which my children have problems with.
The game is that each player is given a board and the object is to match all the pictures and the farmer from tiles which are placed face down on the table or floor. As you turn the tile over you could encourage the child to make the relevant sound to the picture. This not only promotes recognition skills but also encourages the child to learn the names and sounds of the animals etc.
My children have always had a problem with turn taking, in fact so much that they don’t really understand what taking turns is all about. With this game I have found that it helped promote this. My 5-year-old Autistic son loved this game and he sat quietly waiting for his turn eagerly waiting to see if the tiles matched. The children had so much fun playing this and have asked when can they play it again.
The game is for ages 2-6 and for 2-4 players.
